One of the most frequently asked questions we get is, “Do I need drawings first?” 

Not necessarily.  At OPI we have a collaborative approach and a conceptual mindset that that will help us work with our clients early on to provide pricing based on sketches, “hand-waves,” block diagrams, or concepts.  From this point we are able to determine the right design professionals for your project and can work with them side by side to help ensure both timeliness and budget remain in focus throughout the project. Early involvement by OPI helps drive the overall plan to minimize surprises down the road.

 

Founded in 2002 by Jon Persing, OPI Commercial Builders was formed on the principle of “Commitment to Loyalty and Service”, with an emphasis using our conceptual skills to help “paint the picture” for its clients before they need to fully commit to their projects.

Jon Persing has over 40 years of experience in commercial construction. He grew up in the Silicon Valley and has a background in Civil Engineering.

As the President and Founder of OPI Commercial Builders, Jon has an up-front and innovative approach to problem solving that allows him and his team to deliver a high-value outcome projects, often exceeding the expectations of clients. Jon’s unique ability to envision floor plans before formal drawings are drafted allows him to drive a space plan, budget creatively and performance needs, all while going above and beyond the client’s needs.

Jon has completed projects ranging from the ground up construction to complete redevelopment of existing campuses. He has built marquee Silicon Valley companies, performed seismic upgrades as well as constructed corporate headquarters, clean rooms, labs, and biotech facilities. Most projects are completed on a fast-track basis and while buildings were occupied. Jon utilizes his expertise daily and proves a valuable asset to the community.

Evan is Vice President and Project Manager at OPI Commercial Builders. With his 14 years at OPI Commercial Builders, he is known for his ability to take a plan from a conceptual estimate on a napkin and turning it into a successful design-build project.

Evan has successfully completed high-intensity biotech and medical device facilities, class 'A' office spaces, and data center/manufacturing projects. Clients appreciate his exceptional problem-solving skills, which consistently result in minimal impact to schedules and budgets.

With an unparalleled passion for the commercial construction industry, Evan is committed to delivering high value engineering to all projects to maximize function, minimize unnecessary expenses, and to ensure client satisfaction.

Evan Quinn

David has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years. He began his career as an Apprentice Carpenter, he then advanced to a Journeyman Carpenter, Foreman and Superintendent, and is now a Project Manager.

David's in-depth technical knowledge of how things are built makes him a valuable asset in the execution, design and value-engineering stages of any project. He has managed more than 400 projects in his tenure, including ground-up buildings, fast-track high-end tenant improvements, biotech facilities, distribution centers and more.

David's strong leadership and team building skills, coupled with his ability to effectively plan and manage schedules, ensures each and every job is a success. He strives to complete all projects on time and within budget to total client satisfaction.

Brandon has more than 15 years in the Construction Industry and a strong background in Finance and Accounting. Brandon prides himself in providing projects that are on budget and on time for his clients.

He brings his in depth experience to all areas of construction including: estimating, budgeting, design build, project management, field management, and business development. Brandon has successfully worked on Public Schools, Private Developments, and High-tech fields of construction.

Brandon strives to create high performing teams that are able to execute in a fast paced environment that requires high attention to detail. With hands on experience solving complex problems, Brandon applies practical knowledge, and working cross functionally to create strong relationships.

Brandon Merlino

Project Manager

Adam has a strong background in Engineering, with a degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Civil Engineering, and a focus in Structural Engineering. He has worked on projects involving design of residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings. His experience includes detailed scheduling, estimating, and design build construction.

 

Throughout his education and work experience, he has effectively used teamwork to accomplish the goals of the client.

 

Adam’s technical engineering knowledge has led to an emphasis on designing and building projects safely and efficiently. As Project Engineer, he uses these skills to maximize his attention to detail and quality, cost consciousness, and self-readiness.
